Program Description(专业介绍)

This program will enable students to be wide-ranged in specialized knowledge, capable of practical work and particular specialized in microelectronic and solid-state electronic engineering. Students can be fit into professional jobs in research institutions, colleges, enterprises and etc.

Thesis and Degree Requirements(论文及学位要求)

博士生从事科学研究和撰写学位论文的时间不得少于2年,应在导师指导下独立完成

The duration for research and dissertation should be no less than two years and all these work should be under the guidance of the supervisor.

 

Details:

 

1)博士研究生的培养实行导师负责制,组成以博士生导师为组长的博士研究生指导小组,负责博士研究生的培养和考核工作。

The guide team, consisting of tutors or relative scholars and experts, is responsible to the doctoral candidates (education and evaluation).

 

2)对跨一级学科课程的限定

a.跨一级学科课程指学科外的研究生课程,如光电工程(宽带光接入网)专业课程,且必须跟班听课并同堂参加考试。

b.所选的跨一级学科课程不得与硕士期间所修的课程相同。

 

Notice for trans-discipline courses: 

  a. Candidates who’d like to attend trans-discipline courses, Optical engineering (Broadband optical access network) for example, should follow the class and take the exam.    

b. Candidates should NOT choose the same trans-discipline courses as in their master’s program.

 

3)课题要求:学位论文必须有课题来源,并与导师及其所在博士学科点所承担的科研项目相结合。

Subject requirements: dissertation must be closely connected with and base on the research program.

 

4)论文资格审查:在入学后1至1.5年内进行

Assessment will be carried out within 1 or 1.5 year after enrolment.

 

审查内容包括:课程学习情况、文献综述报告、课题来源与选题报告、学位论文的前期进展情况、选题是否都达到博士论文的水平。

The qualification assessment include: performance during study/ literature review/ sources of the paper’s research task and their proposal/ the qualification of the dissertation

 

未通过博士论文资格审查者,一般在第一次论文工作审查后0.5年至1年内再进行一次

Candidates who fail to pass the above assessments, they should undertake another round of assessments within 0.5 or 1 year after the first one.

 

3)论文中期报告: 论文课题进行到中期,需做论文阶段进展报告,提出下一阶段的计划和措施,并形成书面报告上交。

Interim Report for the dissertation: Doctoral candidates should report research achievements to their tutors and experts. Candidates are supposed to take in opinions of doubts and consult the improvements.

 

4)英语授课的博士生,毕业论文摘要必须用汉语撰写

Doctoral candidates who are taught in English should write the abstract of the dissertation in Chinese.

 

 

学位论文答辩Doctoral Dissertation Defense

博士研究生申请学位论文答辩的基本条件具体如下:

Basic Requirements:

 

1)、修完所规定的课程学分

Acquiring all required courses credits

 

2)、完成论文选题报告

Completing the Proposal for the dissertation

 

3)、完成论文中期报告

Completing the Interim Report for the Paper

 

4)、在刊物上发表规定数量的论文,参见研究生院要求。

在国内外重要学术刊物上发表(或被接受发表)学术论文数量,参见研究生院有关规定。

Publishing a certain amount of papers as required by the graduate school: Students should publish papers on important domestic or overseas academic journals (or paper is already accepted by the journal).

 

5)、完成毕业论文的撰写

Completing the writing of the dissertation.

 

6)、通过校内外专家的评审

Passing the assessment by experts from both HUST and other universities.
