On May 18 2018, the fourth postgraduate "intimate mentor" list was published by the Postgraduate Office of HUST and Prof. Sun Qizhen of HUST SOEI was successfully elected.

The aim of the campaign “intimate mentor” is to select graduate mentors who have ideals and faith, moral sentiments, solid foundation of knowledge andheart of kindness. The selection process is divided into four stages: recommendation nomination, achievement assessment, network display and public review.

Li Yue, Prof. Sun’s graduate student, presented the story of her professor with a video record, getting good reviews from the judges. According to the student, Prof. Sun is not only an outstanding teacher and team mentor, but also students’ good friend. In the end of the campaign, the top 15 graduate mentors on the final score list were awarded the honorary title of “intimate mentor” by the organizing committee

Brief Introduction of Prof. Sun

Prof. Sun Qizhen is currently professor and Ph.D supervisor of HUST SOEI. Laureate of the “Marie Curie Scholar”, “Distinguished Young Scholars of Hubei Province” and ‘Central China Scholar”, she has conducted in-depth research in the field of fiber optic sensing and has undertaken more than ten national key projects with a total funding of over10 million yuan.
